ABOUT MYSELF

I have been working in the Malden Pulic Schools for thirty-six years. I have taught at the Salemwood School, Browne Junior High, Belmont School, Lincoln Middle School, and for the last nine years I have been at the Ferryway School. For the last seven years I have been one of two assistant principals. This year, 2008-2009, I am working with the students and teachers in grades 1, 3, 5, and 7. Mrs. Francescone, our other assistant principal, works with the students and teachers in grades K, 2, 4, 6, and 8. Next year we will follow our students, and I will have grades K, 2, 4, 6, and 8. We have done this the last seven years, and we are pleased with the results.

Message to parents/guardians

In my experience working with students as a teacher and as an assistant principal, I have observed that students who have parents who are involved in their education, do much better academically. Please, if you are not involved in your child's education, get involved. Your involvement will pay dividends not only to the Ferryway School, but more important to you, your family, and your children. If you are already involved I congratulate you, and thank you. You will not be sorry!

HOMEWORK

Parents and students: Homework reinforces what goes on in the classroom, so homework is extremely important. Students in grades 3-8 have agenda books provided by the Ferryway School to write homework assignments down. We ask parents to check their child's agenda book nightly for homework assignments and notes from teachers.
