HI. My name is Gail Rabin. I am originally from New York City and received my BA from Brooklyn College. I attended graduate school at Northeastern University and am certified to teach elementary education. In addition, I am certified to teach mild and moderate special needs. I have worked 15 years in The Malden Public Schools. I am currently a learning center teacher at The Beebe School.
I work with students who are having diffficulty in reading, math or language. Specific goals that are identified in the individual educational plans of each student are followed to enable students to achieve maximum success.
Daily homework assignments are not given by the learning center teacher.Students are responsible for completing assignments assigned by their regular education teacher. To view your childs homework please link to their web sights. It is benefical for your child to read at least 10 pages a night from a book of their choice.
In the learning center a wide variety of techniques will be utilized to help students who are having difficulties in specific areas. Students will be instructured in a sequental, phonetically based reading program. In addition, Students will work on comprehension techniques to help enrich their understanding of the text. Grade level curriculum will be modified when necessary.
Student work will be displayed throughout the classroom. Each student will have a folder with samples of their work.
