Welcome to our first grade class at the Beebe School. First grade is always an exciting learning experience for the children. We have 25 children in our class this year. We will be constantly working on our reading and math skills. I hope we have a successful year for all children.
On the first day of the week the children are given a weekly homework sheet. Please place this sheet on your refrigerator to remind you of each day's assignments. Homework should be returned each day. Please encourage your child to read every day. As part of the first grade reading program each child is required to complete a monthly reading calendar. Our third reading calendar was sent home on December 1, 2008. Congratulations to the thirteen children who completed our second reading calendar. Please read 5 times each week and return the calendar on January 5, 2009. Our new reading series is Scott Foresman "Reading Street" and our math series is "Think Math".
