During this year, all 7th grade students will study Ancient History. We begin this course by studying "What is History?" Students do projects on their own personal history and record their likes and dislikes in a Time Capsule that we open at the end of the year. We move into a study of the City of Malden from a geographical perspective creating our own maps of the city.
7th grade ancient history includes prehistory, Mesopotamia, Egpyt, Greece and Rome. Additionally, we will study and discuss the 5 main religions of the world. These include Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism.
I'm looking forward to a successful and enriching year!
Expectations in 7th grade are high. Students need to come to school prepared to learn. This preparation includes coming to class with their textbooks, agenda book, all handouts, homework, and a pen. In addition, all students are required to have a marble notebook that we use for journaling. Students are always encouraged to ask questions and/or to come after or before school for extra help. Please see my calendar for all homework assignments and information about current studies. Thank you.
I have lived my entire life in Malden, attending both the "old" Beebe and Malden High School. I received a BA from the University of Mass. and am currently working on a Master's degree in Education and History. I have been at the "new" Beebe since it opened and enjoy working in such a pleasant environment.
